The Floor

Jason and Ron pulled up the lanoleum to reveal a really nicely laid plywood subfloor. In one spot they were able to remove all but the hardwood. This showed that there were two layers of subflooring and two layers of lanoleum on top of the hardwood before they took up the lanoleum. In an effort to learn more about how to pull up the subfloor, Jason called Uncle Jim. Uncle Jim said that the presence of the subfloor may indicate that the hardwood is damaged in some way, either water or termite damage and could be beyond repair. We plan to investigate this thoroughly before proceeding.
